Many of the problems encountered in designing a good experiment are called threats to validity. This is because neglecting to address these issues could make a study鈥檚 results inaccurate or invalid. The author of this paper explains the major internal and external threats to validity with practical examples of what to look for when reading, evaluating, or planning research.
