NUR 514 Discussion Question 1 and 2
Grand Canyon University Course 514
In order to provide safe, high-quality, and affordable patient care in interprofessional, dynamic health care contexts, this course investigates the roles of leadership, organizational science, policy, and informatics. Learners investigate different organizational links seen in healthcare systems and get ready to contribute to the creation of innovative, cost-effective care delivery models and ideas for practice reform. We present professional leadership theories and discuss how they affect nurse leaders’ ability to collaborate, resolve conflicts, make decisions, and negotiate.
Learners discuss change management theories and evaluate the ethical, social, legal, economic, and political implications of practice change and health care informatics along with strategies for managing human, fiscal, and health care resources in a variety of organizational systems. Learners also examine the uses of patient-care, information systems, and communication technologies and discuss the design, implementation, and evaluation of electronic health record systems and clinical decision support systems.
