Discussion 1: Introductory Video . Connecting with Peers

A very important part of social work is connecting with peers. Consulting with colleagues on difficult cases is key to practicing as an ethical clinician. Viewing your colleagues’ videos is a wonderful way to learn the areas of focus of each. Hopefully, the connections you make with colleagues in this course, soon-to-be experts on family theories, will endure throughout your practice as a clinical social worker.

For this ungraded Discussion, record a 2- to 3-minute video introducing yourself to your colleagues.

  •        State your name, your geographic location, and your area of interest in social work.: Advanced clinical
  •        Describe your experience in working with groups and families, whether as a participant, leader, and/or observer (e.g., agency committee, interdisciplinary team, book club, church group).
  •        Describe what you are hoping to gain from this course.
  •        If you are comfortable doing so, relate a fun fact about yourself, such as hobbies, personal interests, or experiences.

Upload your video using the Mashup Tool in the classroom. For instructions on how to upload your video, refer to the Kaltura Media Uploader area on the course navigation menu
